Rep. Noujaim praises U.S. Rep. Christopher S. Murphy, D-5th District, for introducing federal legislation that would help families find missing loved ones at a news conference at the State Capitol August 6th. The measure, “Billy’s Law,” is named after Billy Smolinski of Waterbury, who went missing on August 24, 2004 at the age of 31. Rep. Noujaim also discussed a bill he cosponsored during the 2009 legislative session that designates August 23rd of each year as Missing Persons Day to raise awareness of the plight of families of state citizens who have been reported missing. Looking on are from left, rear, Congressman Murphy, state Representative Larry B. Butler, D-72nd District, and State Trooper Karen O’Connor.
