Noujaim Honored by Carolyn’s Place

On Sunday, November 1st, State Representative Selim Noujaim (R-Waterbury) was recognized at the Seventeenth Anniversary Annual Dinner of Carolyn’s Place held at the Villa Rosa Pontelandolfo Restaurant in Waterbury. 

Carolyn’s Place Pregnancy Care Center is a ministry committed to empowering individuals through education, comfort and assistance to make life choices related to their sexuality and child-bearing consistent with the sanctity of life. The foundation is named for Carolyn Marie, a baby discovered abandoned in at the St. John the Evangelist Church in Watertown by Rev. Robert Rousseau in 1991. 

Noujaim was presented with the Maureen A. Donohoe Life Award for his work inside and outside the state legislature on pro-life and family issues.

The guest speaker for the evening was Rebecca Lobo, the former University of Connecticut basketball champion who went on to win the gold medal as part of the 1996 U.S. Women’s Basketball Olympic team and played professionally in th WNBA for six year.  She is a member of Life Athletes, an association led by over 300 professional and Olympic athletes who try to live lives of virtue, abstenence until marriage, and respect for life.
